ControlBee MONITOR is an electronic sensor system for remote apiary monitoring. The controller handles up to 100 sensors at once. Sensors can be located up to 150 metres from the controller.

Currently available sensors detect vibrations and impacts (tampering) and measure temperature and air humidity in the hive; a hive scale is also available. The sensors and the hive scale communicate directly with the controller, which is the main device in the ControlBee Monitor system. The ControlBee controller supervises all sensors and forwards the sensor data to the ControlBee app. The controller has a SIM card slot and connects to the app over the GSM mobile network. The ControlBee controller has a built-in lithium-ion battery. A fully charged battery provides up to 30 days of continuous operation. The controller can be charged from a 12 V power adapter, a car cigarette lighter socket or a small solar panel.
